The show follows three talented young Black women from back alley performances to stardom. Through their newfound fame, they are forced to confront love, betrayal, and contrasting ambitions, all pulling at the threads of their unity. With soulful music and a storyline full of dynamic and beautifully human characters, Dreamgirls celebrates the Motown music scene while also diving into its clash with White America’s attempt to squash and steal from it.
