With music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice, this rock opera tells the story of the last seven days of Jesus’s life from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. Judas begins to doubt that Jesus’s actions match his teachings—including his close friendship with Mary Magdalene. Torn between his doubts and his faith, Judas considers betraying his dearest friend to the enemies who want him dead.

The Lark & Spur Christmas concert at the Grand Theatre is a beloved tradition for many Utah families. The program consists of traditional and modern carols performed on piano, acoustic guitars, mandolin, woodwinds, double bass and is known for impressive vocals and harmonies.
Lark & Spur’s founders, Lori Decker and Jeff Whiteley began their musical career together as street musicians (acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals) in Paris, Munich and other European cities. Those early street performances led to appearances on radio and TV in France and Switzerland, and ultimately to invitations to perform at major music festivals: the Deauville, Jazz a Juan (Juan les Pins), Montreux and Brienz Jazz Festivals. And of course innumerable performances in Utah. Along the way, other musicians were added. Now the line-up includes Sebastian Neugebauer on piano; Alicia Wrigley on bass and vocals, Rich Dixon on guitar, Ray Smith on woodwinds and Mark Cheney on percussion.

Premiered in 2007 and back by popular demand, The Can Can Club captures the spectacle that drew the elite in Paris in the 1890’s and spawned the likes of Toulouse Lautrec and the infamous Can Can. Reveling in the bohemian ideals of Truth, Beauty, Freedom and most of all Love, it captures the imagination, dazzles the senses, and touches the heart. Derryl said, “I thought it would be a popular piece, because it has everything: excitement, love, humor, tragedy, the wonderful movie score and of course, fantastic dancing.”
